“I wish I had learned more play therapy techniques!”
Participants will first learn that play therapy is more than just a bunch of “techniques” and that it is a way
of being with the child in the context of the relationship. After those principles are explained and practiced,
Non-Directive play therapy for young children will be discussed and Directive play therapy for
older children and adolescents will be discussed and demonstrated.
Strategies to build self-esteem help children and adolescents identify and tolerate feelings and cope with life stressors will be the focus of the training.
